The legacy of the Grand Circle of Mages had been that of dutiful service to the Crown - historically the current seat of power within the Alliance - as Protectors of the Realm and advisors in matters of the arcane. Once an institution of excellence and a collective of higher minds, that Grand Circle of Mages threatened to pass into obscurity -as other circles had during the subsequent fall of their own kingdoms- for a time following the fall of Lordaeron.
